Manifesto
Artists form one of the essential foundations of social and cultural development. Through their work, they shape public imagination, open new
perspectives on the future, and contribute—often invisibly yet profoundly—to economic vitality and democratic life. Above all, they reveal and sustain
the diversity of human experience.
Yet meaningful artistic work requires freedom, independence, and structural support. Too often, recognition is determined by market visibility or
incidental success rather than by cultural relevance and long-term contribution. We believe that artistic value cannot be reduced to commercial presence. What matters is cultural significance, intellectual depth, and the enrichment of society’s pluralistic fabric.
Artforum Culture Foundation Hellas A.M.K.E. exists to uphold and strengthen these principles. As an independent, non-profit institution, we support artistic excellence through awards, development programs, exhibitions, research initiatives, and publications. Our aim is to create sustainablevisibility, foster professional growth, and contribute to a living cultural record accessible to artists, institutions, collectors, and the public alike.
Building on decades of cultural engagement, our work integrates advisory services, mentoring, curatorial practice, research resources, and collaborative partnerships. We remain open to cooperation with museums, academic institutions, public authorities, and private partners who share a
commitment to artistic freedom and cultural responsibility.
Art and culture are not peripheral concerns; they are central to an open, democratic, and forward-looking society. Artists are innovators, researchers,
and educators whose work deepens collective awareness and strengthens civic life.
As partners of artists, society, and institutions, Artforum Culture Foundation Hellas A.M.K.E. is committed to fostering sustainable artistic
development and meaningful cultural dialogue—nationally and internationally.
Our Vision
Art as a Foundation of Society
Art is not an accessory to society. It is one of its foundations.
Artists expand perception, challenge conventions, and give form to the complexities of our time. They are innovators of thought and contributors to democratic culture. Yet artistic value is too often measured by market visibility rather than by cultural significance and long-term impact.
A Framework for Artistic Substance Artforum Culture Foundation Hellas A.M.K.E. was established to provide a different framework.
As an independent non-profit civil company under Greek law, we invest in artistic substance, intellectual rigor, and sustainable development. Through structured awards, curated exhibitions, research initiatives, and a professionally moderated digital platform, we create conditions in which artists can develop, be documented, and engage internationally.
Guided by Principles of Excellence
Our work is anchored in three core principles:
• Excellence over visibility
• Structure over spontaneity
• Long-term cultural value over short-term recognition
These principles ensure that artistic merit remains central to every initiative.
Strengthening the Cultural Ecosystem
We connect artists with institutions, collectors, research environments, and international partners—strengthening the cultural ecosystem rather than creating isolated moments of exposure.
Investing in Cultural Infrastructure
Supporting Artforum Hellas means investing in cultural infrastructure. It means enabling independent artistic practice, fostering international dialogue, and contributing to a resilient and pluralistic society.
We believe that societies flourish where artistic freedom, professional integrity, and cultural responsibility are structurally supported.
Art is not peripheral. It is essential.
And it deserves a framework equal to its importance.
